Should we love?

"There is no safe investment. To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything, and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one, not even to an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements; lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket -- safe, dark, motionless, airless -- it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. The alternative to tragedy, or at least the risk of tragedy, is damnation. The only place outside Heaven where you can be safe from all the dangers and perturbations of love is Hell."

This made me cry.

But then I was thinking I use to be just like this. I had my heart broken before undergrad. So when I got to undergrad I was guarded and elusive. And, I stayed that way until this year.

This year I found out about Yah and have been consisent (as possible)with following His laws. About a month before finding your blog, I prayed a special prayer, one that I had never prayed. I asked Yah to send me a man, that loves Him. Those were my exact words! I have been feeling like I am ready to love and be loved. But, Honestly I had not thought of you in years, many years.

I was sitting at my computer and was about to log off one evening when your name was in my mind. A thought came to me to google your name. *A few days earlier, some ladies on a haircare forum I belong to were telling us to google our own names to see what is on the internet under our own name.

So I posted to you under anonymous because I still wasn't sure this is where Yah wanted me to be. Because, I prayed for Yah to send him to me. But, it looks like Yah sent me to you. I finally get it. He keeps sending me to West Virginia, since I was five years old. I can't run and hide. Yah wouldn't let Jonah (Yonah) hide. Zora Neale Hurston said, "Love will make your soul crawl out of its hiding place. This is so me.

Likewise, this makes me think about Ruth and Boaz (she went to him). Ruth loved Naomi's son who died. Ruth also loved Naomi's God, Yah. Ruth went to Bethlehem with Naomi. Naomi was a Hebrew Israelite. Ruth fell in love with Boaz (Ruth2:2) and Boaz fell in love with Ruth (Ruth2:5). He told her to stay in his fields (vs.8) and told her to stay with the women. Boaz commanded the other men not to bother Ruth(vs.9,22,23).

Naomi wanted security, a covering of protection, a husband for Ruth. She told Ruth what to do, to lie at his feet (Ruth 3:4). Boaz was pleased with Ruth. She was kind and she stayed away from men. vs.10
He covered Ruth with a blanket, which is a Hebrew symbol of a covering of protection, marriage (Ruth 3:15). Boaz went before the elders to ask for Ruth. The elders blessed Boaz and Ruth (Ruth 4:11). They were married and had a son vs. 13. Obed, a descendant of our Messiah, Yahoshua.

Yes, we should love. Ruth had Faith in Yah that Boaz would love her back.

HalleluYah

I think the greatest tragedy is never taking that leap of faith and falling in love. I say bring the pain if I get to at least enjoy that overwhelming sensation of love. Love is the greatest gift God gave to us, and so why let it go to waste? If you go through life just playing it safe you will never have really lived at all.
