Even though I do not hold some of the values of our new President. I am hopeful that he will have a successful presidency. It was an amazing experience. I don't know if it is a dawning of a new day ideologically, but it truly was the realization of many peoples dreams!

I agree. I believe there will be new ideologies insinuated, pushed, and popularized in the new administration. I'm hoping that the unbiblical ones will not become the driving force for the so called "CHANGE". I'm up for change as long as it does not violate God's word. I am looking forward to the positive ideologies that will cause the needed change even amongst Christians. I think these new ideologies will challenge us to truly love others, take care of the environment, and take more ownership of this nation. I believe the new ideologies will break some religious stagnation and even limitations that we have put over ourselves. These times are challenging but I know God will use it for His glory and help shape us into the people we are suppose to be.
Anthony I left a really long comment but somehow it didn't make it through. To give you a short synopsis, I said that I agreed about the emphasis on ideology. I believe that some ideology will be insinuated and others indirectly forced on the American people through popularization. On the other hand I do believe that these new ideologies will challenge the church to truly love, truly steward the environment, and truly take a greater ownership of our nation. I do believe that some of these ideologies whether biblical or not will challenge the church to be what they are suppose to be and in turn will result in an attack on religious thinking that many of us including me have grown up in. As a church we will have to know who we are and what God says. We cannot be dissuaded by any other trend, ideology, or popularity that doesn't line up with God's word. We will have to be more relevant as a church and show the world through our lives that we are germane, relevant, and powerfully competent and equipped to impact this nation. Of course we know it is not merely might or power but a reliance on God.
You know, many have raised him almost to a level of Redeemer, Savior, and the such. When one does not have Hope, they tend to make all attempts as a drowning man. Hope, success, and purpose is only truly defined in the Divine. I believe his presidency will be successful also. I do hope that people will detour their affections to Him vs him.
Though I also hope that this new presidency will lead to positive change (improved social policies, decreased polarization, etc.), at the end of the day, the change we achieve as a country depends on us as a country, not one man. Despite all good intentions and wisdom, Pres. Obama cannot change what we do not want to change. He cannot sacrifice for us, he cannot care for us, he cannot love our neighbor in our stead. Supporting Obama cannot be a substitute for us facing our own demons, taking responsibility for our own role in the messes we face, and stepping up to help others.
